New Season Start date
We would like to wish everyone a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing summer break. We will begin the new season on Saturday September 6th with a fun bowl. That Saturday, we will also be looking for the bowlers to elect their new Club Captains for the new season and to ensure that all the teams are set. The new league season will then kick off on September 13th. -
InterYBC 20th July
Congratulations to all our bowlers who took part in the InterYBC tournament today. The main squad did fantastically well with Craig Austin-Whittle bowling a 3 game 634 series and Sam Harvey-O'Connell & Dale Woodcock both approaching the 600 series mark. They were ably supported by Simon Tilley and Shola Attryde who both bowled well. The team also achieved Havant's first 900 game in this year's tournament. Overall we were 2nd on the day and all games over 800 - not something we've achieved in some time.
We also fielded the pacing squad and Jessica Montgomery, Rosalind Lush, Andy Barrett and Craig Tilley all bowled well with Jessica achieving a personal best 467 series - her second PB series in two days!!
The supporters must also be congratulated for cheering both squads on to their achievements. The final game of the Havant squad vs the Pacing (Havant squad) had a fantastic atmosphere and was a credit to the club. -
2008 Torquay Trios
Apologies and congratulations to all those that went to Torquay in April this year that we haven't posted the results until now. Special congratulations need to go to Sam Brown who topped the Individual Male table with a fantastic 266 High Game and a six game average of 208 !! Sam was also more than ably partnered by Joe Perkins and Chris Chase in the Havant A Chance team as they won the Division 2 Team competition. What this does highlight is the need to 'blow our own trumpet'. I don't necessarily attend every tournament that the club is represented at so I need you as the bowlers who are there to tell me especially when you do as well as this. It is a testament both to you as bowlers and to the club and coaches who have helped you get there. People do look at this website - 33,000+ hits last year and growing - and they are more likely to join a bowling club that is proud to shout about it's achievements. -
2007-2008 Season Presentation Night
The date for this year's presentation night has been set for Saturday September 6th. Venue and further details to be confirmed in the next few weeks but book the date in your diaries. -
WELL DONE TO ALL OUR BOWLERS AT THE JUNIOR NATIONALS
A hearty congratulations to all our young bowlers who went to Chelmsford over the weekend of May 24th/25th for the 42nd NAYBC Junior National Championships. Everyone bowled really well despite difficult lane conditions and high heat.
Special congratulations have to go to Annaleise Vokes who took 2nd place in the Senior Girls Singles category and to Kallum Lawrence and Josh Hartley who took 3rd spot in the Junior Regular Doubles section.
The full results are now available and have been posted in the Results section of this site. As usual, we have highlighted the Havant bowlers in each of the results lists. -
More 2008 YBC Squad Photos Now Available in the Gallery
We have now published into the Gallery all of the team photos for the YBC League this season. The versions shown in the Gallery are web optimised so not really suitable for printing out but it is possible to order high quality copies of the photos by completing the ORDER FORM and handing in to Howard or the Desk on a Saturday morning.
